CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE

We are fully geared to execute Reticulation (Lines & Underground Cable Networks)
and Electrifi cation projects as well Substation projects up to 400kV.

 

Our competence is detailed as follows:

 

Substation Construction

This includes preparing the erf, layout, building of the relay-house, excavations, foundations, steelwork, erection of all support structures, installation of switchgear, protection and metering equipment, Transformers, NEC/NER’s, Auxilliary supplies(AC+DC),
Busbars, Installation of closing spans, power cable installation and termination.

 

Within the switchroom - Panel installation, Control + telecommunication cabling and terminationIn the case of GIS,

switchgear will be installed by preferred supplier and managed by EQTECH.

 

Line Construction

This includes Positioning, Excavations, Foundations, Erection of all types of line structures, line Hardware Installation,

Stringing of Conductor, Tensioning and Regulating and Commissioning.

 

Electrification and Reticulation

Complete bulk electrifi cation - Erection of network MV ‘backbone’, transformers, mini-substations , metering, RMU, LV Networks -

ABC and Service Connections to house-units(Conventional or Prepaid )- this includes both overhead line networks as well as underground cable networks up to 33kV.

 

Planned & Unplanned Maintenance
  • Line inspections

  • Replacement of hardware and conductor,

  • woodpole inspections, stubbing or replacement

  • Infrared testing of critical points.

  • Replacement of Metering Kiosks , Pole Top Boxes,

  • ABC ,

 

Turnkey

Together with our strategic partners we have established EPCM capability and are able to off er a full turnkey service ie Feasibility,

Pre-Design, Design, Supply and Construct and Commissioning of Electrical networks up to Sub Transmission level.


This service has been approved and listed as a service by Eskom. The turnkey off ering can reduce costs, time-frames for completion

and frees the client of various obligations within the Network Asset Creation Value Chain.
